EASY BAKED SPAGHETTI Makes 8 servings.
1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
8 oz angel hair pasta
2 small bay leaves
1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
Salt and Pepper
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
2 cups tomato sauce
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 1/2 tsp sugar or Splenda
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 cup diced onion
2 cups canned diced tomatoes
Heat oven to 350°. Combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, 1 cup water, onion, bell pepper, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, garlic powder, seasoned salt, sugar and bay leaves in a stockpot. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer covered 1 hour. Crumble ground beef into a skillet. Cook until no pink color remains. Drain fat from meat, then add ground beef to stockpot and simmer 20 more min.
-Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta cook according to package directions. Cover bottom of a baking dish with one third of the sauce. Add half of the pasta, then one third of each cheese. Repeat layers ending with sauce. Bake 30 min. Top casserole with remaining cheese and continue to bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, 5 more min. then SERVE...
